can't believe my movie is finally premiering today. it feels good to finish things! I think I'm gonna become a "finishing things" addict!

The Minions from Despicable Me literally steal The Mona Lisa and throw it into the Seine on live TV and all people can talk about is something something The Last Supper. we need to be prosecuting those Minions!
7/26/24
regal is just *throwing away money* by replacing Twisters in 4DX with Deadpool vs. Wolverine. they need to bring it back and let this thing have 4DX screens for the next six months
7/8/24
aside from the obvious joseph kosinsi of it all, the most exciting thing about the F1 trailer is KERRY CONDON BABY
7/6/24
finally getting to that turning point in editing where I'm staying up till 1am every night and making major progress every day. it's so rewarding to see this thing actually coming together. I think it's actually going to be...good!!

pro tip: don't attribute malice where misunderstanding could suffice

when he starts saying "X" instead of Twitter 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩

pretty wild how all the headlines were decrying that movies were dead and cinemas were going under when Furiosa flopped on memorial day weekend, and then literally one week later Bad Boys and Inside Out did crazy numbers. don't start digging the grave just yet!!
6/21/24
my most problematic opinion is that i honestly don't mind Solo: A Star Wars Story
6/20/24
my version of watching The Lord of The Rings and pointing out the shot where Viggo Mortensen broke his toe is watching Knives Out and going "that's Frank Oz"
6/14/24
man. if Paddington 3 ends up being as good as the other two, that full Paddington Trilogy box set is going to be one of the highlights of my shelf
6/13/24
I miss the concept of the mid-season finale
6/12/24
unbelievably relieved that Paddington 3 looks pretty good. with the lack of Paul King and Sally Hawkins, I was bracing for some truly traumatic disappointment
6/11/24
"solo movies" used to just be called movies, man
6/9/24
this is an excerpt from the review of Hit Man on Forbes. not to get into the weeds but dude, is this what passes for film criticism these days?
6/7/24
perry the platypus and gromit would be the best buddy-cop duo ever. they'd both be in crazy social situations and just silently make eye contact in shared judgement. and then wallace would accidentally help doctor doofenshmirtz build a world-ending inator and gromit would have to pull the plug

childhood is mocking unobtanium in avatar. adulthood is realizing that unobtanium is canonically used as a superconductor to power GLOBAL PUBLIC TRANSIT VIA RAIL??????
6/6/24
this is a really good lecture.
6/5/24
some days I think about how Luca is one of the best Pixar movies and I get lost in that sauce (italian)
6/2/24
Days of Future Past is the best X-Men movie ever made and I'll stand by that forever. the main theme has been my morning alarm for 10 years straight now baby
6/1/24
saw furiosa for round 3 in IMAX. it's a truly good one.

"Where must we go, we who wander this wasteland, in search of our better selves?"
5/28/24
the people who are always going on about how all modern art is "like a scribbly drawing from a five-year-old" or "a banana duct-taped to a wall" are the same ones who think jokes like "I identify as an attack helicopter" are funny
5/27/24
unbelievably funny that all the anti-woke clickbait youtubers are losing their minds about the idea that Furiosa is "a Mad Max movie without Mad Max!!!" like dude the trailer has been out for months. the title says it all. and Mad Max is barely a character to begin with
5/24/24
nothing to get me to warm up to your movie like a good quote onscreen right at the start. you get me goin "man. that's a good quote," and then half the battle has already been won
5/24/24
absolutely mind-blowing that Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade is 35 years old today which means it's only 11 years older than me????
5/23/24
i was trying to rack my brains last night for what movies this year i'm genuinely over-the-moon excited to see and the two answers were Twisters and Hit Man. these two things have one item in common
5/20/24
i've watched that new martin scorsese x timothee chalamet perfume ad about a hundred times now. need the feature length version asap
5/20/24
the folks making matches ain't using the same wood that they used to. it's always snapping. i lit a match today and it broke in half mid-strike and sent the flaming end flying across the room and onto the hardwood floor. what could go wrong!!
5/19/24
followup thought: watching doctor who gives me so much secondhand embarassment. half the time i'm just sitting there like "what kind of freak am i for watching this silly goose material????" but then an episode ends and you're filled with a sense of wonder and satisfaction that made it all worth it
5/19/24
new doctor who is a delight. ncuti gatwa is charisma incarnate
5/17/24
feels like a lot of people have gotten pretty cynical about most social media platforms and the general state of the internet right now (with good reason) but i gotta say: current 2024 youtube is thriving. so many small creators with genuine passion and creativity and craftsmanship are taking off like crazy lately. great time to be makin stuff
5/16/24
richard linklater's newest movie Hit Man is coming to theaters next week but NOT TO NASHVILLE???? is this a personal attack????? am i really gonna drive back to atlanta for this???? maybe!!!!
5/16/24
the coolest fun fact about me (by far) is that one time i got to interview the actress who played maurice the orangutan in the new planet of the apes movies. best character ever
5/15/24
ya know, i've been pretty critical about AI and the new apple VR headsets and all that stuff, but there is one modern development that i cannot criticize: drone shows. that stuff slaps dude. no seriously it's so cool
5/15/24
the new Wicked trailer showed everything and everything looks...bad!!!! stop taking my beloved broadway theater kid classics and turning them into epic blockbusters!!!!
5/14/24
I just found out Lee Isaac Chung is directing Twisters?! sad to see another one of our indie up-and-comers consumed by the blockbuster machine but it *does* get me crazy pumped for Twisters
5/14/24
nothing more depressing than seeing a baby in the supermarket with an iPad being used like a pacifier, dude. I saw one today watching Cocomelon on full volume and she was crying every time the phone wasn't in her hand. I know we should be skeptical of moral panics but bro this isn't gonna bode well for the future of humanity
5/8/24
Wildcat is so great. I saw it at The Belcourt tonight (on my birthday!) and got to ask Ethan Hawke the first question at the Q&A afterward. I wish it was playing in more than a dozen theaters!
